5 January - Winter blues

Well here's an adventure for a Monday morning. Joking aside, January can be a difficult time for some couples and families. Christmastime may have been stressful or expensive. It's good to remember you're not alone if things are getting you down.

6 January - Think pink?

Hannah likes anything pink, so she loved this rose-tinted iguana. In fact, I think she'd happily adopt it! Charles Darwin would be 200 this year. He sailed the seven seas looking for new species. It's good to see there's still more to discover.

7 January - Not cricket

Andy Murray's doing brilliantly in the tennis, but our cricketers are bickering. Dad wishes they'd just do their job. Playing a sport you love for a living is a privilege.

7 January - Sea freeze

I'm wearing even more layers today as the big chill continues. Even my ear muffs were not enough! Fortunately, Gran gave me a hat for Christmas.

9 January - Code maker

Another famous name has his 200th birthday this year too: Louis Braille. His bicentennary has made National Braille Week even more special. I'm going to have a go at cracking the code myself.
