14 June – Bee whisperer

A friend of mine told me about this bee whisperer, who managed to get 60,000 bees into a box. He didn’t even wear any protective clothing while he rescued the bees!

15 June – Princes in southern Africa

Princes William and Harry have just begun a tour of southern Africa. They are visiting charities in Botswana, Lesotho and South Africa, before joining supporters to watch England play Algeria in Cape Town.

16 June – On this day… first woman cosmonaut

On this day in 1963 Valentina Tereshkova became the first woman to go into space. Tereshkova joined other cosmonauts on the Vostok VI spaceship.

17 June – New telescope for meteors

My dad told me about this new telescope, which is designed to spot asteroids and comets that might hit Earth. It is a 1.4 gigapixel digital camera that takes pictures of huge areas of the night sky.

19 June – Tea is good for you

When I read today that tea is probably very good for you I was very pleased. I don’t drink too much but I love a good cuppa!

20 June – Football fan arrested

I was amazed that a football fan managed to enter the England team’s dressing room on Friday. He is now being held by the police in Cape Town where the match was held.
