22 June – New budget revealed

I was interested to listen to the emergency budget as it was announced today. The new Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osbourne, had many hard decisions to make.

23 June – Glastonbury Fest begins

You know it’s the summer when the Glastonbury Festival begins. I wish I was there watching Jack Johnson, Paloma Faith, Dizee Rascal, but possibly not Rolf Harris!

24 June – New iPhone unchecked

The new iPhone was released today – but already there are problems. My brother really wanted to get one but is glad he didn’t – he’s left-handed, which might have stopped it working!

25 June – Science show

The Royal Society took their annual science festival out of their headquarters this year. The Society celebrates its 350th anniversary this year.

26 June – Longest and shortest tennis match

I was so impressed with John Isner winning the longest tennis match ever. It’s such a shame he then got knocked out of the next round of Wimbledon in the shortest match of the tournament this year!

27 June – England defeated

I wonder how many England flags will be flying after the football team were knocked out of the World Cup. It might have been a different story if goal-line technology had been used...
