29 March – First London marathon

I have always promised myself to train for a marathon one day, but was surprised the first London Marathon only began in 1981! Perhaps I should get those trainers out and practise...

31 March – Snowy Scotland

I can’t believe that snow has fallen again in Scotland and Northern Ireland! It has caused chaos, and many homes went without electricity.

31 March – Pineberries in UK

My mum likes her fruit, and was amazed at these pineberries, which are soon to be found in UK shops. The fruit looks like a reversed strawberry but tastes like a pineapple!

1 April – April fool!

I totally forgot it was April Fools’ Day today. I was taken in by some of the silliest things. April Fools', always on the first of April, is a day when people try to make other people believe things that aren’t true!

2 April – Good Friday?

I’ve always wondered why Christians call Good Friday ‘good’, because it’s the day they remember when Jesus died. Apparently it’s because he died on a cross for us – so we could be forgiven for all the things we do wrong. I certainly like the hot cross buns that people eat today!

3 April – Peruvian mudslide

There are lots of natural disasters going on – today a mudslide in a small Peruvian town. This town in Peru is not the only place this week to face a mudslide.

4 April – Easter Sunday

Christians all over the world believe that this is the day that Jesus rose from the dead. It's traditional to eat Easter eggs today, and as scientists have now decided that chocolate is good for you – I’ll really be enjoying them!
