13 September – Super-Earth 2

Scientists have discovered 50 more planets outside our Solar System, and one could even support life. Mum says anyone can help search for new planets with the Planet Hunters online project.

15 September – High-tech fun

Starting today, the most awesome games and gadgets are on display at the 2011 Tokyo Game Show. James says the first computer game released was Spacewar! – it would be cool to play it now.

17 September – The art of ballet

There’s a new exhibition at the Royal Academy about the famous ballet paintings of French artist Degas, called Picturing Movement. I’d love to see one of his dancers come to life.

19 September – Bottled light

For families who can’t afford electricity, the ‘Litre of Light’ project uses bottles of water as light bulbs. Unlike this bright idea, chindogu inventions are less than useful – I like the hair guard for noodle-eaters, though!

21 September – Fab fashion

Glam clothing, trend-setting designers, and big celebs have been on display at London Fashion Week. My cousin Debs likes the crazy high-heeled shoes – perhaps I’ll design a pair for her.

23 September – SAS secrets

To mark the 70th birthday of the Special Air Services, this elite British unit has released a secret World War II diary. The SAS gets tough survival training – I wonder how I would cope in the wild.
